In this awesome class you will learn some of the basics of leathercraft to create your own custom scissor sheaths with a needle case. Cate Kuzik (she/her) of Ochre Lea (amazing handmade leather goods) will show you how fun it is to marble leather and then together you will learn to cut, hand sew and set hardware on your own custom leather scissor sheath (you must provide the scissors).
WHEN: The class with be held from 10am to 4pm with a break for lunch on Saturday November 7th.
DETAILS: This workshop is open to everyone from beginners to those with leather-craft experience who want to expand on their skills. All materials and tools are provided. Participants will also get an instructional PDF on how to create future tool sheaths and the basics of marbling.
You will make & receive:
- 2 custom designed scissor sheath, scissors not included
- A digital PDF guide with pattern and instructions to create future sheaths
- A digital PDF guide on the basics of marbling.
PRICE: $175 CAD
Payment in full is required to book a spot in our workshop and due to the limited number of spaces available registration is non-refundable. Discounts cannot be applied to classes. Up to two weeks in advance of the workshop, participation can be transferred to another maker.
All participants will be contacted by email prior to the workshop with all the necessary details for the workshop.
The workshop is located in our Brick-and-Mortar retail store and we ask all participants to be respectful of the space, equipment, other participants and shoppers.
The workshop will require the use of leather working tools, cutting tools (scissors, utility knives), etc. By your participation in any class, workshop, lesson, or workspace usage, you agree to release and hold harmless Former and Latter Fabrics, its instructors, and employees from any and all claims and liability related to any accident that may arise as a result.
