Linen season is on it's way! Join us to sew up an easy fitting wardrobe staple for the warmer months. In this workshop we'll work with the Chalk and Notch Reya Pattern; a wide leg, pull-on pant featuring inseam side pockets, back patch pockets, elastic waistband with optional drawstring and pintucks down the center front of the leg. The Reya pattern includes sizes 0-30. Or for a masculine fit, choose the Wardrobe by Me Men's Loose Linen Pants (sizes 2XS - 4XL).

DESCRIPTION: skills you'll learn in this workshop:
- Reading sewing patterns and size charts.
- Understanding important measurements for choosing the correct size.
- Laying out and cutting sewing patterns.
- Sewing pintucks.
- Inseam and patch pockets.
- Drawstring and elastic waist techniques.
WHEN: This workshop is in two sessions:
- Session 1: Thursday May 28th 5:30-8:30pm
- Session 2: Saturday May 30th 10:00am-4:00pm
WHAT'S INCLUDED: The price of the workshop includes:
- Instruction.
- A $40 credit of for fabric and supplies.
- Please stop by the store about a week and a half before class to pick your fabric so it can be prewashed before the first class.
- When you come to pick your fabric, we will walk through measuring and choosing your size. We ask that participants have their pattern printed and cut out to the required size before class starts.

Digital patterns will have to be printed in advance. You can print and tape them together or you can have the A0 or copyshop files printed locally. We use 'Put Down The Tape Pattern Printing'. You can contact them at putdownthetape@gmail.com
Participants will also need to bring their sewing machines* and accessories (don't forget your manual, power cord, pins and extra machine needles!). Please bring all you personal sewing tools (seam ripper, snips, tape measure, etc).
OTHER INFO: Sewists must be comfortable threading and operating a sewing machine and have spent some time using their machine for simple projects. This class is suited for any sewist with a little experience under their belt!
Minimum age is 16 years.
*Please ensure your sewing machine is in good working order. We request that you bring all your machine accessories and manual.

Payment in full is required to book a spot in our workshop and due to the limited number of spaces available registration is non-refundable. Discounts cannot be applied to classes. Up to two weeks in advance of the workshop, participation can be transferred to another sewist.
All participants will be contacted by email one to two weeks prior to the workshop with all the necessary details for the workshop.
The workshop is located in our Brick and Mortar retail store and we ask all participants to be respectful of the space, equipment, other participants and shoppers.
The workshop will require the use of sewing machines, pins, needles, irons, cutting tools (scissors and rotary cutters), etc. By your participation in any class, workshop, lesson, or workspace usage, you agree to release and hold harmless Former and Latter Fabrics, it’s instructors, and employees from any and all claims and liability related to any accident that may arise as a result.
