TESTAMONIALS: Hear from some of our past participants!

The Jeans Making Workshop by Lauren Taylor, hosted by Former & Latter in March 2024 was absolutely divine. Lauren was brilliant keeping the group focused on each step; providing clear instructions, tips and tricks; and ensuring each of us accomplished what we came for. That's right, we all left with a custom pair of jeans by the end of the weekend! It was a great experience and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. After the course, I made another two pairs of jeans using what I learned in the class. What a special opportunity it was. Thank you, Lauren, for coming to Edmonton and to Former & Latter for hosting us in your beautiful studio (those windows!) and keeping us well fed with delicious and nutritious food all weekend. - Tara

I would count myself as a confident sewist, having made most types of garments across my "sewing career".  However, jeans were a sticking point.  I knew that the fabric and time would be an investment and the steps and topstitching would mean that I couldn't really try on at stages throughout the sewing process.  So I really appreciated Lauren Taylor's course as she arrived with every size of the pattern we were using sewn up to try on.  I was able to compare sizes and choose what I wanted with minimal alterations.  The course itself was amazing.  As we know, the more times you make something the easier it becomes as you can "see" the whole process.  As a small class of novice jean makers, we had the benefit of Lauren's experience to make our process smooth and efficient.  It IS a fast paced class.  However, a confident beginner would likely be able to go home with jeans quite close to finished by the end of the weekend.  Monique and Nicole have a beautiful space, well lit and organized for sewing.  It's a wonderful weekend and as a busy wife, mother and teacher, a true gift to myself.  I highly recommend the course and have since made 2 more pairs of my jeans (getting faster each time I make them).  Have fun! - Jodie
