Are you local to Edmonton, Alberta? Or in the area? We invite you to use our order pick-up option, or come take a look in person at the fabrics & patterns before making your final selections.
Join us for a weekend of pants fitting with Dr Leila Kelleher! Here's your chance to customize pants to your body! In this workshop you will fit a toile of your chosen pants pattern or sloper, make pattern corrections, and sew a second toile to further refine fit. The workshop is suitable for all sizes and genders. Ideally participants will come with a pre-prepared toile, however there will be time to sew one if you're in a time crunch! Instructions on preparing the toile will be distributed in advance.

Dr. Leila Kelleher is a fashion scholar and designer whose work focuses on size-inclusive design, sustainable fashion, and the application of biomechanics in apparel development. She holds a PhD in Biomechanics and uses interdisciplinary approaches to challenge exclusionary norms in fashion design and education.

She is the co-founder of the Size Inclusion in Fashion (SIF) Lab, which fosters research, industry partnerships, and curriculum development to advance equitable practices in fashion. Her book, Plus Size Patternmaking for Womenswear, is the first dedicated textbook on plus-size patternmaking, offering technical methods that reflect the needs and proportions of plus-size bodies.

Leila is also the co-founder of Muna and Broad, a plus-size sewing pattern brand, and A Space, In Between, a global plus-size luxury fashion brand based in Japan. Her second book, Size-Inclusive Sustainable Fashion, currently under contract, critically examines the limitations of mainstream sustainability discourse and offers new frameworks for inclusion. Leila is Assistant Professor of Fashion Design at Toronto Metropolitan (formerly Ryerson) University and Parsons School of Design.
