"Spotlighting the long-standing influence of Chinese design on Liberty, for the Eastern Voyage collection the Design Studio worked closely with four Chinese artists to bring their stories to life, in a collaborative practice that speaks to the heart of the Liberty ethos. The narratives expressed in their work is often inspired by their country, whether through the use of centuries-old techniques or the depiction of elements that are culturally inseparable from life in China. In a celebration of contrasts, eight carefully curated designs transcend aesthetic boundaries by giving us a glimpse into each artist’s unique perspective and creative expression, before being expertly printed onto our inimitable Tana Lawn™ cotton for the perfect finish.

Created using the artwork of Peng Wu, this design comprises of a cacophony of tails, trunks, paws, and tusks. Featuring elephants, bears, horses, monkeys, antelope, foxes, big and small cats, this print has been brought to life with vibrant mark making techniques and an abundance of colour – created in the artist’s signature idiosyncratic style."
